A fragrance with an austere green floral bouquet and a promise of the Mediterranean’s crisp accords conveys nothing but freshness. Clean, fresh, airy, summer-y – this is Versace’s latest fragrance for women called Versace Versense.

Since Donatella Versace took over the Versace Empire, you’ve borne witness to her bold themes and avant-garde preferences in the company’s perfume line. The most notable are Bright Crystal and Crystal Noir. These yin and yang of a fragrance only goes to show that the house of Versace hasn’t lost its “touch” in the perfume market. Both scents have become bestsellers and perennial favorites among perfumistas.

But let’s talk about Versense.

Versense is a light fragrance. It is citrusy at the beginning, more like lemony-lime, with soft florals which appears to be nondescript. The dry down brings in more softness – a dash of white musk and some woods. While Versense, on the overall, is a fresh, squeaky clean fragrance, the sillage and longevity is never compromised. This fragrance is reminiscent of another Alberto Morillas perfume, Omnia Green Jade. There are similarities in terms of the composition but Versense is more compelling. Versense’s notes are bergamot, mandarin orange, citrus, pear, jasmine cedar, sea daffodil, sandalwood, olive wood and musk. It is a wearable scent, perfect for daytime.

This fragrance is strikingly comparable to Bulgari’s Omnia Crystal Jade but Versense is more attractive and more captivating. The latter is generically fresh which is not really bad but these types are aplenty in the perfumery.

Thus, Morillas did a good job in creating a better version with Versense.
