After the successful debut of the first Dolce&Gabbana fragrance, a new line of perfumes, D&G Masculine and D&G Feminine, was created and like the earlier fragrance, it enjoyed the same popularity and soon enough, developed its own following. Presented in 1999, both scents are teeming with lush fruits and floral notes marked by a distinct femininity and masculinity in each label.

D&G Feminine is composed of water lily, tangerine and white cyclamen mixed with middle notes of lily, mimosa and heliotrope. While the base notes contain musky accord of sandalwood and vanilla.

D&G Masculine is a fusion of living kumquat, bergamot, lemon tree leaves on the top note. As for the middle notes, it’s an eclectic mix of oriental-wood notes such as thyme, basil, peppermint leaves, rosemary, helional and ozone living flower. The base notes caps it off with traces of fig wood, teak wood, vetiver, Tonka beans, vanilla pod and musk.

Perfumistas love its "expensive perfume" aroma. Its citrus and floral scent never fails to draw compliments. Some say it’s also the perfect summer scent because the freshness lingers all day.It is not heavy at first whiff nor cloying on the dry down.

A bit of history about the brand: Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana founded Dolce & Gabbana in 1982. The company carries two labels: Dolce&Gabanna and D&G. Dolce&Gabbana is home to the more expensive luxury items. Think corset dresses and sexy-sleek pantsuits. D&G, on the one hand, is more of the casual-chic clothing. It’s trendy, avant-garde and very much cosmopolitan. In 1989, Dolce&Gabbana’s first boutique opened in Tokyo, Japan. On that same year, D&G launched their first men’s wear collection. Moving forward, the company expanded to handbags, sunglasses, shoes, watches, jeans and of course, fragrances.

Dolce&Gabbana has a distinct celebrity following that include Victoria and David Beckham, Sophia Lauren, Kate Hudson, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Michelle Williams, among others. It has seven freestanding boutiques in high-profile districts in the U.S and stores in key locations in Latin America and Canada.
